This page explains how payments, cancellations, and refunds work on KenyanTutors.com for both students/parents/guardians and tutors.
Current position: KenyanTutors.com does not process lesson payments on-site at this stage. Tutors are self-employed and set their own rates and availability.
Last updated: 11 January 2026
Payment arrangements are made directly between the tutor and the student/parent or guardian. Any refunds (if applicable) are handled directly by the tutor under the tutor’s own terms.

Before paying, confirm the tutor’s rate, lesson length, payment method, cancellation rules, and refund terms. If a tutor offers package pricing or requires advance payment, ask what happens if a lesson is cancelled or rescheduled.
Set clear payment, cancellation, and refund terms and communicate them before lessons begin. If you request advance payment or offer packages, define how rescheduling and refunds work so expectations are clear.
KenyanTutors.com currently functions as a discovery and profile platform. Tutors and students/parents/guardians agree payments directly. The Platform is not the merchant of record for tutoring lessons and does not hold lesson funds in escrow.
Each tutor may have different rules. Students/parents/guardians should confirm the tutor’s policy in writing (message/email) before paying. Tutors should communicate their policy clearly before lessons begin.
Because KenyanTutors.com does not process lesson payments, the Platform does not issue lesson refunds. Refund decisions and processing are handled directly by the tutor. Students/parents/guardians should request refunds directly from the tutor using the tutor’s stated policy.
If there is a dispute about payment or refunds, the tutor and student/parent or guardian should first attempt to resolve it directly. Where appropriate, KenyanTutors.com may review concerns and take reasonable steps within the Platform (for example, restricting or removing a profile), but the Platform is not a party to the tutoring contract and cannot enforce payment outcomes.
If KenyanTutors.com introduces on-site payments in the future (for example, card payments, escrow, or platform fees), this page will be updated to describe the refund rules, timelines, and processes for the new payment system.
